RTD. An assassination spree started at a hair salon in the Kampala suburb of Kisasi this morning, killing Minister of State for Labour Col. Charles Engola.
In the Oyam region, the Minister represents Oyam North as a parliamentarian. As a result of his boisterous behavior, he opened fire on himself before taking his own life.
A quick tweet from Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed the incident. However, at the time of publication, neither the identity nor the motivation for the murdered soldier was provided.
“Yes, there has been a gunshot. I’ll have a detailed statement out in a few minutes. It was a soldier who shot his boss.
According to witnesses, the UPDF guard accused the minister of abuse and meager pay, saying he couldn’t be broke while working for him.

Additionally, a retired colonel from the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF), Engola, 64, participated. Prior to moving to the labor ministry, he was the cabinet’s state minister for defense.
